Job Description
BHD Restaurant Limited is looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie(Japanese Cuisine) specializing in Asian cuisine with a focus on Japanese food. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical skill, and a deep knowledge of traditional and modern Japanese food preparation to our kitchen. In this role, you will work closely with our team to enhance our menu by developing new Asian-inspired offerings, with a focus on Japanese food such as Sushi, Raman, Tempura, Okonomiyaki, etc, while also supporting the preparation and cooking of these dishes. The responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with the head chef and culinary team to update our Asian menu that complements our existing offerings, with a focus on Japanese food.
• Create and execute authentic, high-quality Japanese dishes, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
• Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes, including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, ensuring consistency and artistic presentation.
• Maintain inventory of Sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
• Assist in menu planning, costing, and sourcing of Japanese ingredients. • Keep abreast of current Japanese food culinary trends and incorporate new ideas into menu development.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Assist in controlling food waste and portion sizes to manage food costs effectively.

Job Requirements
• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Chef de Partie specializing in Japanese cuisine.
• Strong knife skills and expertise in traditional and contemporary sushi-making techniques.
• Mandarin or Japanese is a must.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Creativity and a passion for food.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
