Job Description

To work as part of our Research and Development team to manage and maintain the workshop and lab facilities related to the design, development and manufacture of devices for both clinical trial use and commercialization.

To help facilitate the smooth running of the workshop for production of components and the lab for the purposes of testing.

Job Requirements
CNC / Workshop responsibilities
• Have a good knowledge of CNC programming.

• Have a good knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360.

• Have a good knowledge and ability to operate various CNC machines.

• Generate and verify CNC codes for CNC machines and Laser Tube cutters.

• Assist in the development and design of assembly tools and fixtures.

• Must be vigilant and diligent with a good attention to detail and able to maintain high standards of work.

• Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standard.

• To run proven programs, adjust work co-ordinates and correct any errors.

• Understanding of CNC nomenclature and ability to make minor program alterations if needed.

• To work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process.

• Keep workshop as a clean and manageable working area.

• Take a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks and report them as appropriate.

• To ensure the quality of machine output is to set specification.

• Organise external calibration of equipment as per schedule.

• Solve day-to-day workshop-based design/development/manufacturing issues.

• To assist in the application of continuous improvement techniques / projects, to improve changeover times, standardize tooling and programs to continually increase machine uptime.

• To apply machine maintenance as per schedules and ccoordinate machine maintenance.

• Maintain technical/design history documentation as required by relevant quality systems procedures and assume responsibility for the on-going maintenance and support of relevant sections of the company's quality system as directed.


Lab responsibilities
• Set-up of lab for wet and dry benchtop testing.

• Keep Lab in a clean and working order.

• To apply lab maintenance as per schedules and ccoordinate lab maintenance.

• Co-ordinate the manufacture of components and assembly of devices for pre-clinical and clinical evaluation



Key Requirements
• CNC controlled equipment and design and process validation experience would be beneficial.

• The successful candidate must be driven, and can plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks and projects.

• The ideal candidate must be a team player, with good interpersonal skills, and be willing to apply themselves to a wide spectrum of company activities.

• Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.



Qualifications
• Relevant certification in Engineering or Toolmaking.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
