Job Description
Inventory Specialist: The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the inventory levels and is responsible for tracking inventory movements, ensuring accurate inventory counts, and overseeing the efficient operation of our warehouses. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with suppliers, store managers, and senior management to ensure that our stores are well-stocked with the right products at the right time, while also keeping costs under control. This role will be full time five over seven days and will include shift work. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand without overstocking. Track and document inventory movements between the warehouse and individual stores. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate records. Assess customer requirements to determine the appropriate quantity, type, range, and quality of goods to be purchased. Identify potential suppliers, and negotiate prices to secure the best deals. Monitor the quality of incoming goods and coordinate the return of any unsatisfactory items. Stay updated on market trends and customer preferences to make informed decisions about product selection and inventory levels. Attend trade fairs, shows, and demonstrations to research new product lines and potential suppliers that align with our stores' offerings. Present new product ideas and supply chain improvements to senior management for consideration. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are stored and distributed efficiently. Supervise administrative and shop staff to ensure that inventory processes are followed and operations run smoothly. Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and prepare necessary reports for senior management. 
 
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Previous experience within the retail or convenience store sector. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory records. Ability to analyze market trends and customer demand to make informed purchasing decisions. Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with store managers, suppliers, and senior management. Personal Attributes: Proactive and able to anticipate inventory needs and potential challenges. Adaptable to the dynamic nature of retail operations. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies, supplier negotiations, and warehouse operations. Customer-focused, with a commitment to ensuring that our stores are stocked with the products our customers need and want. Remuneration: €34000 p.a. 39 hrs/week.
