A Norwegian energy consultancy, DNV, has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Ireland over the next two years.
This follows DNV's acquisition of Dublin-based Enviroguide Consulting in July 2023. Enviroguide will be fully integrated into DNV, allowing the company to expand its presence across Ireland.
Founded over 160 years ago in Oslo, DNV originally focused on assessing the seaworthiness of wooden sail ships. Today, the company provides consultancy and assurance services to over 100,000 clients in 100 countries, with a workforce of 15,000 employees, including 5,500 in its Energy Systems division.
DNV’s services cover a wide range of areas, including maritime safety, energy project advising, supply chain certification, food safety, patient care improvement, and cyber risk management.
As part of its expansion in Ireland, DNV plans to recruit 200 new employees, with around 80 of these roles based in Cork, and the rest distributed across the country. The new positions will focus on environmental science and engineering, ecology and biodiversity, risk advisory, and energy consulting.
