Job Description

 
Identify, source, and negotiate procurement contracts for non-centralized supplies, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
Evaluate local suppliers and alternative vendors to meet operational needs.
Monitor inventory levels for equipment, spare parts, and consumables to ensure operational continuity.
Analyze cost-effectiveness of procurement strategies and oversee purchasing of location-specific tools and maintenance resources.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for kitchen machinery, refrigeration units, and mechanical assets.
Supervise servicing, troubleshooting, and repair coordination for kitchen equipment.
Train staff in basic mechanical troubleshooting to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Maintain an asset register documenting repair history and warranty claims.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for mechanical assets.
Research and recommend energy-efficient, cost-effective equipment solutions.
Assist with kitchen layout optimization and equipment selection for independently funded upgrades or expansions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications in supply chain management, procurement, or mechanical equipment maintenance are an advantage.
Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or mechanical maintenance in the food service or hospitality sector.
Experience with kitchen equipment servicing, procurement cost analysis, and supplier negotiation.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, kitchen equipment servicing, and preventative maintenance.
Proficiency in inventory management software and procurement tools.
Knowledge of vendor negotiation, cost reduction strategies, and supplier management.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with staff and independent service providers to ensure seamless operations.
