On behalf of a modern and well-equipped hospital in Østfold, Eastern Norway, we are currently recruiting a specialist in immunology and transfusion medicine for a full-time, permanent position.
The hospital has one of the largest emergency departments in Norway and offers services across a wide range of medical fields – including maternity care, medical and surgical departments and psychiatry. The position is located in the section for specialised and interdisciplinary support functions and reports to the section manager.
Main responsibilities:
As a senior consultant in immunology and transfusion medicine, you will have a broad range of tasks, including:
- Medical advice and guidance to department heads and other staff
- Responsibility for donor assessment, approval, and follow-up
- Advisory role in transfusion reactions and deviation management
- Professional development, supervision and training
- Responsibility for production and quality assurance of blood products
- Interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
- Hemovigilance responsibilities, including monitoring and reporting transfusion-related complications
Qualifications:
- Authorization to practice as a medical doctor within the EU.
- EU certification as a specialist in immunology and transfusion medicine
- Clinical experience in the field
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across disciplines
- Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free language course
