US fast food chain Wendy's is set to debut in Ireland, creating approximately 300 new jobs. The company has partnered with service station and energy provider Corrib Oil to expand its presence in the Irish market.
Under the agreement, Corrib Oil will open ten Wendy's locations across Ireland between 2025 and 2027. The first batch of restaurant locations, to be revealed in early 2025, will include both standalone Wendy’s outlets and new Wendy’s venues at existing Corrib service stations.
A recruitment campaign for the 300 new positions will be launched in early 2025.
Wendy's is renowned for its signature made-to-order square burgers, alongside its chicken and salad menu options. The company has confirmed that the beef used in its Irish outlets will be 100% Irish-sourced and certified, with plans to source other ingredients locally whenever possible.
Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, Wendy's operates over 7,200 restaurants worldwide, including more than 1,200 locations outside the United States.
EJ Wunsch, President of International Operations at The Wendy’s Company, expressed confidence in the partnership, saying, “Ireland is an excellent market for Wendy’s long-term growth. With Corrib’s strong operational track record and impressive expansion history, we are excited to work with them to drive Wendy's success in Ireland.”
Corrib Oil, which currently operates 38 convenience stores across 17 counties, will expand its workforce as part of the Wendy's expansion. In addition to its energy division, which has 18 depots nationwide, the company employs 1,150 people and expects to increase its workforce to 1,450 as the Wendy's rollout progresses.
